Apache 2.0.46 not caching or allowing SSL access

I've got Apache up and running as a Proxy server for http, but I've got a few problems...

Despite having the cache and cache disk modules loaded, the minute I uncomment the lines for the cache root and it's parameters I cannot reload Apache - am I missing something blatantly obvious?

In addition what module do you need to load to enable outbound https access?
