In the AP vendor notes screen, if you type a URL address with 'http:\\' at the start, be warned, you get directed to a web site that you don't want your users going to..
If you use then it is OK.
We had some careful explaining to do today..all ladies in our AP area. My guys research shows that a site,
and go to 'dodgy domain scams' can shed some light.

I cannot recreate this error. You must mean ' and not 'http:\\'. But I cannot recreate this error in either case, tried 4 different URLs and they all work.

Maybe the site itself is being redirected and it has nothing to do with Macola?

If you type into your browser you will be redirected to a site you might not expect. The problem in the AP notes URL field only exists if the URL your have entered there is in the format of there is no problem if you have as the URL.
Thanks
Luke

You seem to be implying that if the URL is stored as then it launches into the browser as
I am not experiencing this. I am on 76400a and IE 7.

What happens if you click on the link to news.com in your previous post?
I have duplicated this on multiple machines at the office and my home pc via a different ISP?

The link to either or to from Macola both take me to the same place as if I had manually typed in either in the address bar in IE7.

What version of Macola? What browser and version?

Just finshed remote session with a user in the US and cannot dupicate the issue via macola or directly into IE
Must be a aussie issue, i have used multiple ISP's on different machines

Perhaps this is an issue with search toolbar installed on the machine in question? If an invalid address is entered in Internet Explorer then the default search engine typically takes over. I have often seen offensive "spyware" based toolbars that send users to offensive offerings.

Scott just made a great point. Luke have you looked at this?

Good idea but not a search bar as it has been duplicated on multiple machines.
Looks like we had a dodgy DNS record in our DNS cache.
