I have AOL and Win 98. Suppose I open in IE and find a job - with an e-mail link like
goodjob@headhunter.com
If I click on this link, I am asked to set up e-mail and the Wizard wants an incoming (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) mailbox server and an outgoing - SMTP - server.

What do I enter for AOL?

First off- as far as I know, AOL doesn't support POP3/SMTP email- the only way you can get your AOL mail is through the AOL software.

Secondly- you don't want to be getting that wizard in the first place. Ideally, AOL should be set up to take all mailto: requests. As I don't have AOL, I'm not sure how to set that up, but it should be somewhere in the AOL Options section. You can also try here in IE: "Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs". See what's selected in the "Email" drop-down box. Hopefully, you can select AOL in the dropdown box, but I'm not sure.

Best of luck.
Liam Morley

"light the deep, and bring silence to the world.
light the world, and bring depth to the silence."
