Pretty sure I've hit a compatibility limitation... but I am trying to link my existing Access 97 database application to an Access 2000 database to link to a couple of tables. Any info is appreciated. tia... Steve Medvid

Unfortunately, can not upgrade until Late Feburary when entire department is going to XP.

In the intrim, I have devised a work-around... I will create a small program within a new Access2000 database that performs the links to the master Access2000 database that are necessary. Then the small program will export the data to a flat file or XLS file. Once there, Access97 can drag it in.

I was really hoping there was another back-door approach that would avoid this long-about route to get data. Luckily there are only ~3000 records or so...

If anyone has avoided this type of work-around, please share the info.

I created a duplicate table in the '97 db and linked to it from the 2k db then, periodicaly updated the linked table from the 2k end.
