We recently where upgrading a clients application (which we wrote) and suggested that they update their database server - it was a P1 with 256 mb running NT 3.51.

When we talk to suppliers we where told that clustering was the wy forward and so after a demo the client liked and bought. The whole package cost them about £55,000 (sterling) - that was two 1gb memory server and a disk array mounted.

After running with this technology for about 6 months. It saddens me to report that the machine now is LESS reliability than previous. It runs out of memory the cluster keels over regularly.

One thing I noticed is that the cluster software is V1. Total nightmare.

Any one else using clustering?
