Anyone using MySQL with FP

I have had my website hosted on a Linux server for sometime now but now I need to begin storing and accessing data. What are the options available. I have access to MySQL but I'm not sure how to interface with it through FP. I would much rather throw the data in a DBF file or whatever and access it directly but apparently I have no ODBC connectivity at all. Any ideas other than changing to an IIS host?
