I can't believe that the forum isn't filled with version 3 questions and problem resolution yet!

Somebody must have a client or two using the official release.

Feedback people we all need more feedback!!!

I did my first upgrade to 3.0 on a small office yesterday. It went well, except for a forwarding issues we previously had come back.

Basically they want to be able to forward all calls when a huntgroup night service is turned on by a button on the phone. Then this forwards the calls to user 5000 (which does not exists). Then this users always forwards out to and 800 number. We had touble getting it to forward. Instead of forwarding it went to voicemail.

Also, I tried to play with the line appearances, key system functionality and could not get it to work. Could not find great directions either. Some simple directions would be helpful. It also is confusing that the first line can only be an appearance not a specific line appearance.

Thanks

Is it the same procedure when upgrading from 2.1(X) to 3.0(X) ? Also will I be able to administer 2.1 system with the 3.0 admin software with out corrupting the data base?

I upgraded a 2.1 to 3.0 with no issues. It also upgraded my 2420 to R4 Firmware with no issues.

I really like that the led is red when the phone is on hook. (Reminds me of the Definity days)

Button Programming is now called Digital Telephony

Bridged appearances seem to work ok. Have not tried any of the key system features yet though.

I have been running as a trial site for some time & not had any major problems yet ( but this is in home environment so the requirements are limited)
our in house dem system seems ok.

There is another interim upgrade for IP403 units (V2.99)

DO NOT use a V2.1 Manager, you would not be able to use new V3.0 features & call coverage has been changed so I would expect problems.

The official release notification I recieved from Avaya does contain a Large list of bugs located in the field trials & there current status, but only a few are currently open & scheduled for a maintanence release, these are mostly translation issues or verr obscure & of a minor nature so hopefuly this release will not be V2.1(15) Mk2

I want to install the 3.0 admin app on my laptop. knowing that I will continue to support/install... 2.1 systems will I be OK or do I need to install this software into a different directory?

DO not use a V3.0 Manager on a V2.X system
thsi will cause corruption as the operation of certain features & there configuration has been changed.

To install multiple managers follow this procedure

1) install 1st Admin suite
2) Copy (do not move) the programm directory
3) un install the admin suite
4) install the 2nd Admin suite
5) creat new shortcuts for the orginal Admin suite
6) repeat as necessary.
