If you have a current Software maintainance agreement, you should recieved a letter from symantec with a new licencing code, that will allow you to go to the site and d/load the update without having to wait for the cd.
Thats what I thought too. Alas, the nice person I spoke to in Katmandoo or where ever said that I would have to wait for my CD........ and wait I continue....
Spirit, One thing to be aware of is the following error: Error: "The add-in 'C:\Program Files\NavNT\vpmsece.dll' could not be installed or loaded. . .
After Migrating from sav 8.x you may get this when you open Outlook on your clients
Go to the symantec knowledgebase and look at Document ID:2002090613375148
It gives you the work around... forget about using MS detect and repair..it doesnt correct the issue (or didnt for me). Basically the work around asks you to delete the extend.dat file in the users profile and then look for and delete certain files in the registry.
Anyone using Live Update Administration Utility? I can't get it to list the new versions of Symantec Antivirus. It'll only show version 8.x and not 9.x. Before Symantec Support said that when you run any Live Update from the utility it will update the product list, but this just doesn't happen.
Yep, The link from Zulan is the same fix I mentioned in the document. Im glad somebody else has experienced this. Its a pain when something goes wrong and nobody else seems to have come across it.....
Currently using 8.01, Anyone using 9.0 can tell me what the difference is in regards to Email?
We don't run a Mail AV scanner on our Exchange boxes, but all workstations are running NAV CE Client. Currently, one thing which shits me off is how NAV CE doesn't scan email or anything. It merely sits on the filesystem, and lets people open virus attachments, then the realtime system kicks in and picks it up...
Is this changed in 9.0? Where it's similar to the home version of NAV, where it literally scans all email in and outgoing, before it shows it in your inbox?
Does anyone happen to have a MST for the MSI install of Norton 9 they'd like to share? I'm fairly new to making transforms for things, but i cannot seem to figure out where to tell norton to make itself managed and what parent server to use. Anyone?
I wanted to install the central quarantine, now i keep getting "Error -1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime". I've tried everything in the installshield article (link)
except for reinstalling windows. Has anyone else had this problem? As much as i would enjoy reinstalling windows on a DC i would rather avoid it if possible.
