I have a client who is running on something called an IPEYA VOIP system. It uses Polycom 501 IP phones.

These guys are having lots of problems, and I have been looking the system over but it seems to be very basic(at least compared to an IP Office system which I am more familiar with).

I cannot find much in the way of detailed technical support for this product.

Their website suddenly changed last week and now appears to just go to an e-comerce site - at least the old site had documentation.

Has anyone had experience with this type of system?

The biggest issue they have right now is phantom calls on any extensions that their main hunt group is on(doesn't happen with other extensions).

Thanks,

Sorry in advance for the pun

Ia Peya, youa Peya, we alla Peya

Sorry not to be able to answer your question...

Yes, not a great name, but then, not a great product, either.

I think it may be based on Asterisk, but I'm not sure.

They've discontinued it anyway and just sell voip phone lines now.

PS - I think as punishment for your pun you should be forced to listen to hold music exclusively for the next week.

I have had a lot of experience with this product. Feel free to contact me with any questions if necessary. I believe I also have a digital copy of the admin manual, or if you want email support@voice4biz.com requesting for a manual. One of the techs (still the same techs) from Ipeya, now Voice4Biz will probably be able to send you a copy.

I'd like to try and plead down to elevator music.

At least it has it's ups and downs.

Hey Evolocity,

Can you use any cordless voip sets with the IPEYA system? I know polycom doesn't make one but does anybody else make one that works with the IPEYA pbx?

Thanks,

Yes, the Ipeya system is compatible with the usage of any SIP compliant Phone. There are several wireless SIP phones on the market. I would stray from the Zultys, as I hear Zultys lost funding and are trying to find funding again. I heard the owner closed the front doors of the building the day before payroll after he already knew about the loss of funding so he could get an extra couple of weeks out of the staff. Not good business. Anyways, if you aren't going with a wireless phone, the Polycom is the recommended phone because Polycom's sound the best, especially for the price and they seem to have the least amount of issues. I don't have any rec's for the wireless sip phone though. Here is a link to see some available WIFI Sip Phone models

Hey there,

I have an Aastra 480i CT cordless phone. Having a bit of trouble getting it working with the IPEYA box.

It does work in a way - but whenever I dial a number, it seems to dial the ip address within the DHCP range. For example, if I dial 18, the phone tries to dial 192.168.10.18 - 192.168.10.x being the ip range of our system. It keeps saying on the phone No service, and I cannot dial the phone from other extensions or dial to other extensions(unless I try using the ip address I know of another phone).

Any suggestions?

Hey again - after alot of fiddling it works, and it works great!
