Has anyone tried voicemail email reading feature on the IP406? I followed the voicemail installation guide and it would not function.

IP406 v2.1 Build 15
Window 2k server SP3.
VMP is set to use Intuity rather than IP Office Mode.
I have tried running the VM as a service and as an application to no avail.

Unfortunately i believe the issue lies with VMP linking with the SMTP server as the feature voicemail to email does not want to function either.

Any advice would be most welcome.

I think it only works in Mapi mode, it also must be in intuity mode and not IP office, but you hvae that bit ok.

Hi

We have VMPro running on 2.1(15)whit SMTP, and working.
BUT it is tricky the logon of the service must be the same as the mailbox owner.
This is the same for MAPI. Logon for the service, mailbox owner and pc logon.

If running VMPro as an application and not as a service you can see the SMTP and MAPI logon in the window.

Success.

routermad, just to confirm, you have a TTS licence and have verified it in a callflow? And, you are running an exchange server (required)?

If yes to both above, I would agree with your hypothesis that you must troubleshoot the voicemail email feature before barking up the email reading tree :)

It is all about NT rights, you must make sure that VM Pro service has rights in exchange to access the mailbox that you whan Voicemail read back on.

You can check MS Technet for the precedure
