Anyone tried SP4 for NW6.5?

colleague slapped it on one server few days ago
lasted about 20 mins
removed it

all the java for zen etc - suspended
no tids etc so goodbye sp4

I built a new backup server with the SP4 overlay a few days ago and Java seems fine, at least it works well enough for Backup Exec.

I've been battling the memory fragmentation issues on my SP2 production servers and was hoping to skip the SP3, 3a, 3b hodgepodge. Crikey, did Novell hire a bunch of ex-MS programmers or what?

SP3 bit me in the ass really hard when it first came out. I just can't afford that with SP4. I still think SP1 was the most stable.

Again, I'm surprised at how soon it was released after SP3.

SP4 is a special SP.

Its comming from engeneering and not from support, because it is the SP1 for OES and all SP1 are from Eng. and not only fixing problems, they also bringing new features (in this case imanager 2.5 and so on)

This was also the reason that there was no BETA phase on it.

Btw, i have 4 Systems with SP4 now running (+ nss patch after Sp4) and they went fine (incl. DIRXML 1.1a on it)
