I basically need a solution where i am able to backup a system to a different server in case of failure.......i heard that symantec live state recovery can do this as it clones a whole hard drive and will work on other hardware......
I haven't tried symantec's solution but I have used Acronis True Image with the Universal Restore module successfully. It allows you to change drivers as the image is being restored.
we basically want to have an offline backup server...........and i'd probably restore the current server to that twice a week or so, and in the event of a crash on the online server, i'd throw this one into its role ensuring minimal downtime.......
i know that veritas backup exec system recovery, acronis with restore anywhere, and also paragon advertise that their products can do this!!........
however, seeing that i'll be doing this on a regular basis, i'd much prefer to trial this product first.......and their trials don't allow trying this!!..
