anyone migrated backup tapes or backup tape data from
one backup software to another ie. Legato Networker to
Veritas Netbackup or ADSM to Netbackup or Arcserve to Netbackup.

I wouldn't count on doing this. Comparing it to human language, it's like British english and US english. Most of the time it's fine. Sometime things are not exactly as they would appear to be.

Use the same product set on both the target and source machines.
