Anyone know where to download pubs.mdf?

Hello,

I want to download a fresh copy of pubs.mdf, but I cant seem to find it (using google and microsofts site). I have found pubs.mdb, the access version, but thats not what I want. Also, what is a .ldf file?

Hi Tom,

There is a copy of the install script for the Pubs Database in your install folder on your server.

<SQL Install Dir>\Install\instpubs.sql

If you run this script in Query Analyser you will create a new pubs database however be sure to drop the existing one if it exists.

DROP DATABASE pubs


and also ....

.mdf: (Master Data File) Primary Data File.
Every database must have one, and only one
Primary Data File
.ndf: Additional Data Files. (Optional)
.ldf: (Log Data File) Transaction Log File. It
contains information necessary to restore the
database. Each daatabase has at least one log
file.
