Anyone know the Reg setting to stop Office 2000 self repair

I am trying to modify the outlook today page in outlook 2000. I want to incorperate a search element to search papers and display.<br>

When i edit the outlwvw.dll the office 2000 self repair kicks in and reverts to the original.
