We're about to implement a cisco call manager set up. Is there any simulator software that I coul play with first? I don't like the idea of getting a system in without knowing the basics.

Training in this firm is always after the event....

There is a Call Manager simulator, but it is not going to help you here. It is mainly designed to run a few phones to be able to call each other for programmers to be able to test IP Phone Service applications they write.
