Anyone know how T-Berds send caller ID?

My customer's Magix can't make or receive calls over their PRI. It was working fine until I tried to connect to it remotely with WinSPM, then I lost my connection and the PRI went down. I replaced the DCD 100 card and still no luck. The carrier insisted the channels were in service then sent a tech out. He connected the PRI to his T-Berd and was able to call my cell phone. Only problem is, my caller ID showed MY CELL phone number, not the customer's BTN. Is this normal? Also, I was too frazzled to call him back to see if he could get inbound calls on the T-Berd.

What alarm errors are present in the system?

Remember, without a DCH there is NO service in or out on PRI. Some of the things to keep in mind when you have a failure is to check the DS1 facility for alarms, and the DCH for in service status. Also, the BCH and DCH are trunks in a trunk group in the CO switch. So they can be in or out of service. (They have TGNs and Route Indexes.)

As far as the T-Berd is concerned, the CID sent would depend on what the tech used for his call set up info.

Thanks. The PRI was fine. I hooked it up to an IP Office and it came right up. Some of the errors on the Magix included "D-Channel inoperative" and "PRI svc inconsistent"; I put channels 1-23 in B-channel grp 1 but didn't see where I can enable the D-channel. Can you administer the D-channel anywhere in the Magix?

Also, I replaced the 617Y33 processor with a 617X33 processor and couldn't restore programming from the memory card from the 617Y33 even though they were both at the same rev. I think something's wrong with the CPU. I couldn't even restore programming to the 617Y33 from either the memory card or AMS file. Something got fried in the middle of me trying to connect via WinSPM over a modem.

In relation to the DCH, you don't put it anywhere! By default the system takes care of it when configuring a PRI. There is nothing to administer. Just make sure the DCH assignment, 8xx, does not appear in any pool, or group, etc.

You might want to read the Maintenance document for more troubleshooting info. Is the PCMCIA card defective?

Thanks Jim. I see a problem when I tried programming the new KSU--I assigned channels 0501...0523 to my B-channel group but also assigned lines 809-832 to the group--832 being the D-channel. Also assigned line 832 to Pool 70. Must have forgotten how to add over the years.
