Hi

I bought some hosting from Shieldhost.com, and immediately ran into problems with links not working and the control panel not working.

I have sent their technical support emails regarding this, but have not received replies.
These guys have no telephone number where their customers can reach them, and no forums where people can post their questions in.

Would anyone know if they are legit or not?

I am starting to think I should cancel hosting with them.......would anyone know of a good, cheap hosting company? Shieldhost is charging 1.99/month.

Thanks!

Sadly, I do not believe Shieldhost is legit. I also signed up recently, and discovered to my dismay that though they claim to support PERL, they do not have many of the essential modules installed. (I was trying to set up a Movable Type blog.)

I submitted several 'trouble tickets' requesting clarification and assistance, but never received a reply. When I started looking for physical contact information, I found nothing. No phone number, no street address, and no WHOIS information -- they have paid extra to hide their identity.

I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company. And I join you, now, in pursuit of a legitimate, low-cost hosting company. (Though now I am ready to pay a bit more for a company that really exists and supports its customers.)
