I'm trying to follow this tut:

but I'm falling over before I get to Delphi.

When I try to save this pic I don't get the bitmap save as option only portable bitmap, and aplha blend options are greyed out.

I've tried some photoshop forums, but not zero response, so wondered if anyone here has already been down this path?

I'm using Photoshop CS3, so shouldn't have any problems with old software..

There's an alpha blending option in Delphi 2007. You should just be able to put the bitmap onto the form in and of itself and then use code after the form shows to dial up the intensity of the form until it's at 100%.

When I was playing around with TD2006, I had a demo where I faded one form into another in transition. I don't have it handy at the moment, but if you want it I can post it.

Any extra options would be great Glenn, thanks.

It's creating the image I'm stuck at for now though.
(I should press on using the image from the sample though, at least I can make my app use that till I get the image sorted.)

Just to ensure I explained myself properly, I've captured a splash not unlike what I'm trying to achieve.

Here's the Solidworks splash screen that pops up before the main program window.
That's what I want to do with mine.

I'm assuming the 'magic' referred to in my tutorial url is getting the transparency/layers or whatever right.
I can do 'normal' flat images with transparent backgrounds no prob.

As a point of interest, for those who may not know, the machine picture changes each time you start Solidworks, from a selection of half dozen or, which is quite neat I thought.
