Anyone have info on ASPECT DLL interface specifications?

When I looked in the help files under the DLLCALL command, I found the following:

Only .dlls that have been written with the ASPECT DLL interface specification can be used with this command. Calling an arbitrary .dll may cause a critical application error to occur!

Anyone have any more info on the "specs" than this?
 
If you look in the Samples\DLX (and underlying) directory on your 4.8 CD, there is some additional information about ASPECT DLLs there. I also have a ZIP file from the developer of ASPECT that is an updated framework to build ASPECT DLLs. You can find it here:
