Hi,
We were considering purchasing Trend Micro's Interscan Messaging Suite as an SMTP gateway tool for CheckPoint NG firewall. It seems to be the best (OPSEC compatible) choice for the money. Does anyone have any pros or cons for this package? Also, can you recommend a better OPSEC product? Our company is small, we only have about 30-40 mailboxes. (however, mail is very important to our business)
Thanks in advance

from my experience, this is the best u\ll get for the money.
it's a great product, and it suits your needs.
go for it

We have used it for 8 months now and occasionally it does appear a bit flakey. However, for us personally there was nothing on the market to touch it! The only problem we have had is the speed at which it updates the Virus pattern files. We have had several incidents were a virus has got through and been found internally by SOPHOS! Saying that, In March it has stopped over 2000 viruses (of the Netsky variant) so it is certainly not a bad first line of defence.

On the whole a good product, very customisable and versatile. We support 7 Secondary schools, 70 primary schools and about 60 council sites with it and it is only running on a 733 server with 1Gb RAM.

You can also extract the log files created into Excel and create some good reports (using visual basic).

The latest release has ironed out all but one of the problems we have been having which is the occasional error -73 on Microsoft documents (about 2 a week).
