Tech's Point-to-Point Cheet sheet anyone ?

I got thrown into finishing a PTP/Networking of 2 Magix yesterday afternoon.
I haven't done a Point-To-Point networking install for 10 years!
Just thought I'd ask, there may be some Lil tid-bit I learned back then, but bein I'm pushin 60 I may have forgotten a few details!

Thanks all for any input .. Off to the UDP Playhouse!

I know .., last resort.. Read the instructions!!

You want to setup a Merlin Legend Network. There is a avaya book called just that r6.1 on avayas site somewhere.
Its a boring read and will likely confuse you.

Basically it is a proprietary PRI between the two systems.
You setup one switch type as Network and the other switch type as PBX. AKA CO and CPE
You then assign remote extensions and trunks of the other system using UDP programming. Criss cross so each system knows that the other systems extensions are remote extensions reached over the network and not local.
That means that you dial plan between all control units on the merlin legend network must be unique.
You can also setup centralized voicemail and you can send name and number of the extension calling to the called extension.
Its a bit hard if you have never done it.
I have done it many times and it works pretty well.

You may want to hire this out to one who has done it before.
Otherwise set two control unit cabinets with PRI cards and a t1 cross over cable and give it a spin!

I've done 2, but a decade ago .. Was just lookin to see if there was a quickie Cheet sheet..
You know, so you dont miss that one silly thing ... and you scratch yer head for 3 hours
figuring it out ...

Ahhh.. the 6.1 Network Reference. Been there read that .. years ago.

All's good..
I jumped in and set it up in no time ..
Pulled an ALL report from the switch I did 10 years ago.
It's since gone, but my Files aren't!
