Nortel says I have to wait till the 17th just for them to become available, then I have to get it shipped to Alaska for me to be able to use it.

why cant I just use a regular damn hard drive?

is anyone willing to let me call them so I can ask them a few questions about my BCM400? thanks.

If you have the BIT tool and 4.0 image CD's, you can use any 20, 40 or 80GB IDE hard drive.

Hi,
You may try to call Teletech at 877-677-0202, they have most of the BCM parts in stock, and they should be able to answer most of your questions. I use them for all me needs.

how can i install the image in the hard drive? i think using my windows pc and attaching the disk as a second disk, am i right?

Aerodesliza; Best way way is by using the BIT tool.

Buy an 80gb HDD.

Nortel has a BCM Imaging Tool (BIT) software available for all 3.6, 3.7 and 4.0 systems. Burn these three images to CD-ROMs.

Connect it to your BCM on the IDE cable where the old hard drive was connected. Connect an IDE CD-ROM to the second IDE port. Connect a monitor and keyboard to the fron of the BCM (it's hidden behind the front panel). Apply power and insert disk 1 into the CD-ROM. Follow the BIT Instruction manual for selections. You will be prompted for an code which can be obtained from the Nortel KRS. Finish the BIT programming. Turn off the BCM and remove attached CD-ROM, Monitor and keyboard.

Apply power.. Follow manual for HDD replacement.

Should be good to go..

If you're not a certified BCM tech or have good knowledge about working on PCs, then I recommend getting one, as this is not an easy undertaking..
