Due to the fact that IBM is not going to support AIX 4.3.3 much longer, we are being forced to upgrade to AIX 5.1 or 5.2. This will require that we also upgrade to Progress 9.1D Enterprise database.

Has anyone run into any problems doing this?

Thanks!

Natalie

Upgrading to 9.1D should be very straightforward. Make sure you get the latest Service Pack (currently SP7), as there were a couple of wrinkles in vanilla 9.1D. If you use ADM2 you may find problems with a handful of its IPs or functions, but if you don't you should be up'n'running almost instantly. Plan your upgrade carefully and do backups and then do more backups :)

Hi Natalie,

Going through some old documentation, I came across something that might or might not be relevant here. We went straight from 9.1B to 9.1D. When we did that, we made the rude discovery that we had to upgrade our Java software.

Good luck,
David
