anyone foree problems with changing desktop names?

Does anybody forsee any problems with changing all of the computer names for my company's network to something manageable (denver, fremont, elbert,...) instead of desktop14ed35, laptop34kkli, johnlaptop (which doesn't belong to john anymore), etc.

not changing server names at all

only one computer has a shared printer attached (only 6 users connect to it on occasion)

no file sharing, no internal ftp sites, no internal web pages hosted on these desktops (all files are hosted on servers)

we use solidworks, autocad, quickbooks, and microsoft office

The type of Server may have some bearing on the matter, see the links from this article?

I'd be inclined to try one or two less important machines, and see what does or doesn't happen.
