Anyone experiencing issues with NW6 SP2 and PowerChute Business Edition? We keep losing the connection, then we get the connection back... APC has no idea, and we have been working with them for several weeks now.
Are you running at least "PowerChute 4.x.x for Netware"? Also, is the version you are running from a migration, just installed, or was working fine and just recently started whacking-out? Was is fine before SP2? Please give a lil'mo info.
Just migrated from Netware 4.11 to 6 with SP2. Fully patched version of Netware. Clean install of PowerChute Business Edition (newest version downloaded just 2 weeks ago). We are only running the Agent for PowerChute, which according to APC is all we need. Migrated Netware 11/16 and installed PowerChute on 17th. We have never gotten it to run successfully for long periods of time. Through APC tech support, we added this line to the startup.ncf in the PowerCHute\bin directory:
LOAD AIOCOMX INT=4 PORT=3F8 NOFIFO
This now restarts reconnects PowerChute when communications are lost, however it happens anywhere from 4 - 10 times a day. Very unreliable.
Novells forum has several people who experienced this problem, but APC could not help them, so they have been dealing with it going up and down for 5 months.
