I have a customer with 500 tapes from a software called Live Vault. It seems to install on Win2k just fine. It even accepts my Storagetek Timberwolf 9730 (DLT8000) library as a library. Problem is i don't think it likes the library. I don't really know how to use the product but if i put a cartridge in the library, live vault doesnt seem to know it's there. If i put one into the CAP, it doesn't seem to grab the cartridge and put it in a slot. I'm just taking a stab at this realizing it's probably a lost cause, however if anyone has any experience with it I could sure use some suggestions on how to get it to work and how to import/insert tapes into the library and so forth. If you're available for contract work I'd probably be interested in that too.

I had a conversation with a customer the other day that has been running this Backup Software. He has been severed by the developing corporation from any support and is search of a backup solution. They no longer anser the phone.

Have not had an opportunity to verify his story.

It has been a while since I worked with Live Vault and I hope what I tell you is going to help you out. It is true that that they dont sell the software anymore and only provide online backup, using the product. Go to removable storage, then to the physical device and disable the library there. Let Livevaults drivers handle it. I think that should fix your problems. Let me know how it goes.
