Anyone ever heard of this problem? Auto Attendant inception...

So I have a client who calls another building.

They're AA picks up, goes through the typical spiel, press 1 for this, 2 for that 3 for what have you and so on, enter your party's ext if you know it when ever.

We put in an extension, and ... surprise surprise, we hear OUR auto attendant picking up.

does the auto attd have direct dial by number ticked? also for extensions 2xxx 2 would need to be set to dial by number on the action tab of the AA
