Hi all, just wondering if anyone's come across this problem:

"You do not have permissions to open this file on Excel Services.

Make sure that the file is in an Excel Services trusted location and that
you have access to the file. "

I'm trying to use the Excel Web Access webpart to display a spreadsheet. The
spreadsheet is places in a document library within the site. I've turned on
the Excel calculation services within central admin, added the file location
to the list of trusted locations in SSP, and enabled the Excel Features at
the site level. I cannot for the life of me get this to work.

Anyone have any suggestion? Thanks!

Hi,

I have used the Excel Services and I did not have this problem. I guess you have already doubled checked the permissions (both for the user account and the account for the SSP etc?).

Cheers,
Thomas

yeah, i'm the admin on the box, portal, central admin and ssp. =(

i think i got it figured out. there were incompatibilities using Excel 2007 RTM with MOSS Beta 2 TR

Yes, I had the same problem.
You need to define a Trusted Location for Excel books. You can do this using the Central Administration site. Once you define a folder (for example a document library) you can put all your Excel books in there.

thanks shab, did you mean Shared Services Provider instead of central admin?
