Hi Everyone,

Has anyone here done the CIT exam in the recent past? I've got it next week and don't know what to expect.

Is it just a mixture of the other 3 subjects or is it all troubleshooting questions?

How best would you revise for it?

Many thanks.

The CIT exam is a bit of a strange one. The CIT exam certification is a complete waste of time and money! I learnt 3 words from it. Top down, bottom up, devide and conquer!

The exam focus heavily on understanding the result of debug outputs, so can you look at a debug output and know whats going on?

I would use the other 3 books to revise and this link

having said that, I thought it was the easiest exam of the 4, but then again some people say the opposite!

Thanks for the v.useful link gwildfire, I'll have a good read through that.

I had a suspicion that it was a bit of a waste of time as well. The course was good fun as you get to troubleshoot some good scenarios and race the rest of the class a bit, but another exam is just another hurdle to stumble over.

I've got BSCI after this one and that's the biggy i reckon.

So your not doing this one last?

Just bear in mind the CIT makes assumptions of knowledge from the other 3 exams! ie how much do you know about BGP etc? I wouldnt reccomend This before BSCI, unless your EIGRP/ISIS/OSPF/BGP knowledge is up to scratch.

I've done the actual courses for all four now, but only taken the BCRAN and BCMSN exams. To be honest i'm trying to postpone the BSCI exam a bit as it scares me. I'm revising BSCI and CIT now so my knowledge is quite good, but not yet good enough to attempt the BSCI exam.

The other stuff is all fresh in my mind having recertified my CCNA last week as well, so i think it'l be worth a shot, especially with that link you gave me.

fingers crossed.....
