Just curious,

Although I have been using Live Upgrade for many years, using it on x86 systems is some what new to me. I always did it on SPARC based servers, sooo much easier!!
my thing is, I can get my live upgrade to work fine on x86 servers, BUT I always have to mess with the grub portion after the live upgrade because I can not get grub to configure properly during/after the live Upgrade. Basically, it does NOT create a functioning grub on the alternate boot environment. So I land up manually having to do it after the fact....so annoying.

I am just wondering if anyone out there does Live upgrade on x86 servers and how they deal with grub, the other caveat I have is that I am also running SVM. Supposedly SVM does not play well with Live Upgrade, news to me, I have not had any issues, but this is what Sun tells me.

I have talked to Sun, it is amazing ,but I can not really a answer to my issues.

I have been testing different configurations by doing one and after it bombs, I would just reinstall the server from a flar image on my jumpstart. quick and easy.

no luck so far.
