Does anybody have experience with object oriented data bases? It has been recommended to us that we switch from Oracle to Poet for a particularly large project we are working on. I have read articles that are based on theoroes but I would like some pratical experiences.<br><br>Are OODBs really easier to work with?<br>Do they require less maintenace?<br>Are the as robust as RBDMs?<br>What are the unforseen pitfalls?<br>Etc., etc., etc. <p>James P. Anybody with experience with OODBs?

The project is a large inventory project. The programs were to be written in Java. From what I've been able to gather, Poet will "talk" to the Java programs much easier and faster a relational DB will since you can skip using some sort of mechanism (e.g. Java Beans) to convert data to the form Java is expecting. These are my assumptions. I'm trying to get another party's advice on these very questions. :-(<br><br><br> <p>James P.
