Our mail server information store is approaching 100GB (although using MSBackup results in 103GB BKF file)
Specs:
Compaq DL-580
4 x 900Mhz P3 CPU
3GB RAM
Windows Adv Server SP4
Exchange 2000 Enterprise SP3
200 GB HDD

Also running Symantec NAV for Exchange and ArcServe

After rebooting the server, it took the info store 20 minutes to load.

6 hrs later the POP service is still starting

Should I do something drastic now?

Thanks to all for any expert advice!

Look at other services.
Disable services that are not required.
Uninstall anything you don't need.
Patch the server fully.
Move the SMTP virtual server to another machine (wish list).
Make sure AV is thorough.
What type of HDD is it?
Move log files to another set of spindles
Why ArcServe but getting 103GB BKF?

100GB is kiddie stuff for Exchange. :)
