Networker 5.5.2 Build 165. Compaq Proliant server w/4 Adaptec Differential SCSI controllers into a StorageTek 9714 with 4 DLT7000 Drives.

Occasionally, I get "fsf307: No more data is on the tape" error, the system then mounts the tape and marks it (R)ead only.

Ideas? Any insight is appreciated... - Bill

Could be a bad drive or a bad tape. I'd start there.

On 4 different drives with a choice from 400 tapes? I appreciate the help, but that ain't it... - Bill

Hey,

If you're running on an NT 4.0 system, you may want to check with Legato for a newer version of nsrmmd.exe. We were encountering the same problem for a while, NT 4.0 SP6a, Networker 5.7, Build 112. We received a newer version of nsrmmd.exe from Legato and that seemed to solve our situation. There should be a number in brackets following your error message "fsf307: No more data is on the tape (268436560)" or similar. The Legato Knowlegebase has some information regarding this issue. It might not be exactly what you are looking for initially, but it might lead you in the right direction.

Good luck,

Thanks, we went through that. Legato had to open their FTP site for the new copy of nsrmmd, but IT MADE THINGS WORSE! Went back to the old version...

The input is appreciated  - Bill
