I am using Windows2000 + OfficeXP.
I don't like the thick description bar, like for example in outlook,
right under the menu button, there is a bar describing, "inbox" or "calendar"...

Anybody knows what the file name is for outlook edit and somemore tips?

You can alter your toolbar by going though View --> Toolbars --> Options. That should let you change the settings on your Outlook toolbar to get rid of the text or resize the icons.

I myself have only the text in my Outlook, rather than the icons because it's slimmer and less obtrusive...

Thank you Nick.

But, what I want to know is, how to make it slim the Description bar, not a toolbar?

Description bar means, for example, i am reading emails from inbox. And, I mostly use, 'Preview Pane'. Then, in the upper part, there are emails, right? And in the lower part, there shows the email Contents. And between the upper & lower, there is a pane describing, From (who)/ To (who)/ (what is the) Subject?/CC (who), like this.
I wan to make slim this pane. Do you know any trick?

And do you know how to edit outlook, like outlook "system" font(to edit, new/reply/forward...etc), or the color of outlook bars from gray to other colors

Tnx in advance.

I'm sorry for misunderstanding what you meant... Could you describe for me how thick this description bar is for you? On mine, it's already a slim bar with nothing by the words, "From," "Subject," "Size," etc... in it. There are no graphics and there is not significant empty space.

But if you describe for me what you're seeing, I might have a better idea of how to help.

If you are displaying the header information, which it sounds like you are, you can right mouse click on that bar and uncheck the option HEADER INFORMATION. This will show just a thin line across between the main view window and the preview pane.

As for the fonts you will find those under TOOLS - OPTIONS - MAIL FORMAT - FONTS

NcCorduan, I think your setting is set as "Hide header Information" checked as joegz suggested. If you check in from VIEW -> CURRENT VIEW -> CUSTOMIZE CURRENT VIEW -> OTHER SETTINGS -> in Preview Pain box, Show Preview Pain & Hide header information, CHECKED!

joegz, tnx for your excellent tip! But, i want to ADJUST THE PREVIEW PAIN HEADER information, not completely not-shown. If i check in hide header information, everything disappear. But, i only want to adjust the size becos i lots of time see who this is sent to.
Any other idea?

Doldol,
I think this will fix you up. Right click on the To:, From:, ect... and choose Customize Currrent View. Then choose Other Settings. Once in there, choose Column Headings and change your font size. Mine is defaulted
at 8 pt Tahoma. I noticed if I go up to 10 or 12, the bar itself grows. So just make it a smaller font size and the bar will "slim" down. Hope this helps!

Hey,
just double click on the status bar , in between the preview and the actual window, this would help you becoming slim.

Tnx tricks & all.

I got it. right click the mouse button on the PREVIEW PANE, and, [preview pain options ]-> [Preview Header ]-> Font,
type like 7 or 6(office 2000).

Tnx.

I found that somehow, OfficeXP doesn't have the feature, [Preview Header]->[ Font ]. only exist in Office2000.

FYI
