I think this may be a fatal flaw with dBase 5. But my combobox for Customer last name is only including a few hundred out of about 2000 names.

I looked in the manual and didn't see any row maximum listed. Possibly you encountered an 8-bit limit which is at or close to 255. If you count the rows I wonder if you'll find there are only about that number?

As your user would enter letters does the list shorten and then fit within the maximum rows allowed?

Hey dbmark, thanks for your reply! I counted the records: 512 maximum. I sorted the Customer table to a new table and viewed the record number of the last record found in my combobox. As you type, it will find any record up until the 512th one. After that the combobox dropdown box is empty. My table currently has over 1800 records. This is all in the name of fun, since I have my production database in MS Access and Libre Office, and thought it would be interesting to see what dBase 5 could do in Windows 3.11. It is obviously pretty limited compared to today's desktop database managers, I don't know what I was expecting! lol!
