Anybody familiar with "Can't contact LDAP Director server (81)"

Hello, and thanks for reading this, as well as any help you can provide. I recently installed active synch to connect to my new pda, but it required Outlook 2002 to work correctly, so I upgraded.

Now, on occaision, I get this message when outlook is open:

Can't contact LDAP Directory server (81)

and I can't find any info on it.

I am also finding outlook is slower and does not ready nicknames.

Any ideas?

Not really familiar with the message - a couple of questions come to mind ...

1. Are you configured as part of a domain for your company - or are you using LDAP with and ISP.
2. Are you connected to the network when you receive these errors?

I have no exchange server available to me. I just use Outlook to read my email from my ISPs (earthlink, netzero, etc.)

The errors occur with or without an internet connection; no real network available.
