Hi,

I'm looking to install a UILC card in my OPT 11C. If I understood well this card only supports 2B1Q NT1's.
Is there anyone who has experience using these cards and what brand of NT1 can I use?

Regards

I have done this several times on an 81C.

Installing a UILC (NT6D71AA in an 81C):

(Reference the Nortel ISDN Basic Rate Interface manual 553-3901-200, page 5 of 234).
(See page 25 of 50 for 110 block layout).

A UILC BRI card places 8 ports on the MDF and uses punch down 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14. ----1,3,5,7,9,11,13 are not used.

1. MISP and UILC must be in the same network group (ie. MISP on loop 2, Superloop for IPE on loop 4).
2. Install UILC in any IPE slot, except controller slot.
3. Then configure switch as below (below is a working example used at NAS):

Configure PAD table (optional) if not configured, defaults will be used. Defaults were used at NAS and in the following example.

ADDING THE ACTUAL BRI CIRCUIT USES THE FOLLOWING STEPS: 1. ADD a UICL for a line. 2. ADD a DSL for a line. 3. ADD a TSP for a line. The examples below are the actual printouts from NAS.

Add a UICL configured for a line:

Test the ISDN/DSL by connecting an ISDN test set to the TN, enter the spid and dn, then make a voice call.

In the above example the DSL did not work (TEI failure) until the MISP was force downloaded, then the test set was able to place a voice call.

Force download the MISP:
LD 32
.DISL 2
.ENLL 2 FDL (where 2 is the loop # where the MISP card is located).

Hi Mannas,

Thanks for your reply, I'll test it in our lab today, but there is another problem. In our country, the protocol used by the NT1 is 4B3T. Since the UILC only supports 2B1Q, we have to order these NT1's somewhere else. Can you tell me what brand you are using?

Best regards
Frank
