Any Way to Make Background Constant Across Images?

Hi,

After taking over 80 progressive photos showing an object (a model airplane) rotating (to be used in a Flash animation), I realized that the light coming through the window, which I thought was constant, was actually changing from photo to photo.

My question is this: Is there any way in Photoshop 6 to change the light values of the background so that the light level on all the photos is constant. Automatically adjusting all the levels doesn't work because it takes into account the light falling on the model airplane, which differs from photo to photo, so differences still occur from photo to photo.

Maybe there's a way to sample the background at the same place on each photo and adjust each so it's the same degree of brightness as the others?

The background is a piece of white cloth with blue stripes.

Thanks!
Bill

...sounds to me like you will need to investigate the curves function, as each image is different you will likely have to adjust each one individually, no short cuts for the task you have in front of you I'm afraid...

...some images you may find quite near to each other if shot at very close intervals, for something like you are trying to achieve a consistent light source would need to be used, an artificial one...

...you will have to go by the numbers in the info palette if you want to go ahead with manually adjusting each one...

...a good link is here:

...you will have to decide whether it is worth the time to manually adjust the images or whether you would be better off taking the photos again with a consistent studio lighting set up/source (not the sun)...

Thanks for the info. With the number of shots involved, I think reshooting is the wisest solution.
