Any way to leave a Ext live without a phone?

We have a few people that are always offsite or small remote offices that their main number here is fwd'd to. The phones sitting on the shelf are getting slightly annoying and in the way, is there a way to forward a ext and keep that extension alive without the phone being plugged in?

I can get the DID to forward without a phone plugged in, but internally placed calls to the ext say not in service.

Forgot to mention, this is a BCM 50.

If it`s an IP phone then yes. If not then no.

you can setup answer dn's on 1 set that will keep the ext live and only need 1 set on shelve

You can assign the target line to ring directly to the mailbox, and have internal people do F980 and mailbox number to leave a message.

If you're not using your analog ports, assign those extensions to them.
