I searched the forum and found some old sparse references to this topic back in 2005. We are very current on our BCM450 with the latest 6.0 release. So I'll pose the question again:

Is there a way to block a outside call (originating from a land line and assuming it has caller id)coming from a specific phone number?

One trick I know we can do is to configure the specific phone number we want to block in BEM - Configuration - Telephony - Global Settings - Speed Dial. Choose an open speed dial number and in the External Number field, enter the number you want to block. Then in the Name field, enter the description of the number (e.g. party's name). So, in the event the calling party doesn't have CLID, you can identify the caller by name and then choose not to answer it. This isn't what we want, but is a little help. We would rather have the call immediately dropped OR route the caller to a pre-recorded greeting which would state that the calling number has been blocked by our organization.

If anyone knows how to do this, plese let me know!

Thanks,
VOJ

This is just an idea.

use Auto Attendant with CLID routing Table.
This will route the call according to the number.

The only problem is the AA will have to be on for all incoming calls
and This may not be suitable.

CLID Routing Table
Set up a CLID Routing Table to control how calls are routed based on their
Caller Identification. The CLID Routing Table routes recognized incoming
telephone numbers to the appropriate destinations. You can set up the CLID
Routing Table to direct frequent callers to a specific extension or mailbox,
CCR Tree or Greeting Table. To use a CLID Table, your incoming lines must
be equipped with Caller Identification service.
If an incoming call has a CLID value that matches an entry in the CLID
Routing Table, the call is directed according to the CLID Routing Table rather
than the Greeting Table. After the call is directed, the call disconnects or
returns to the routing according to the Return to Auto-Attendant setting.
Note that as well as entering full CLID references, such as 01244 670200, an
area code can be entered. For example if 01244 is entered, all CLID’s
received starting with that area code will be recognized and transferred to the
programmed destination.
