Hallo,
I have some form in my pages and I want to change the appearance of the <SELECT> element. I use CSS and the only thing which works is 'background-color' and 'color' but I also want to change the appearance of the border and of the arrow which is on the right side and roll out the available option.

Are there any CSS parameters for changing the SELECT element?? Any help appreciated

Sure, all the text attributes'll work for a select control.

Cheers,

Thanx very much for the reference. Unfortunately it seems that I won't be able to change the color of the border and the colors of the right arrow :-( It is strange that there are ways how to change the appearance of the scrollbar and no ways how to change appearance of the SELECT...

u could make your own select, using layers and a bit of javascript. that way u can use ale your own graphics to make it. if u do a good job its even cross-browser compatable :)

I learned a bit yesterday, today i learned a lot, imagine what i'll learn tomorrow!

Hi K9logic and thanx for reply.
I know there are possibilities to make my own controls but I'm programmer only and have no experience with this feature which belongs more likely to graphics. Do you have any good tutorial which can help me?? The thing is that I use the SELECT element in my e-mail client and it is used for listing all the users registered within my web pages so the registered user can e-mail to all other users. So the count of the OPTION elements inside the SELECT is dynamicaly modified according to the count of actually registered users. So I don't know if there is any help for me, because the OPTION elements are output from PHP script.
