Have a new customer{very busy hair salon} that has 2 QCC operators. They take all of the calls and do the scheduling as well. The owner wants it this way even though they have DID to the stylist station(customer is always right ). He wants the incoming calls to go to a que message saying please hold when both operators are busy, is this possible? Thanks in advance!

Should have mentioned that they have a voicegate ICS voicemail

For the most part, I always recommend that QCC's are not to be used.

However, with the requirements given by this client, an exception to that rule may be required.

The Feature Reference provides the following info, which may meet your needs:

[bold]Position Busy Backup[/bold]

The Position Busy Backup option designates a Calling Group to receive calls when all QCCs are in a position-busy state. Only Calling Groups can be designated as QCC position-busy backups. If no Calling Group is assigned to provide position-busy backup, the system does not allow the last QCC operator to use Position Busy. The Position Busy Backup option is programmed for the QCC queue rather than for individual operator positions. Only one Position Busy Backup can be programmed.

Pushed the wrong button...(And, with this forum, there is no going back and editing, once you post, a sad, sad thing, I must say...)

The POS BZ Backup option is done with a BUTTON, not automatically.

I really think the QCC is NOT THE RIGHT OPTION for this client (or pretty much ANY CLIENT!).

2 normal (DLC) consoles would work fine, with frlsyrf coverage to A Calling group that has an auto attendant announcement to do as you stated originally.

The QCC is So very limited it just should almost NEVER be used.

System is set-up with a t-1. Lines are coming in to salon with the voicemail picking up immediately with the callers dialing 0 to go to the ldn(both QCC operators). Numbers being sent from provider are 279 which is the last number of the DID range. If I make operators DLC would it be best to manipulte 279 to main operator 200. Then would I put coverage buttons on second DLC 201 for 200.

Well, do you really need the Auto Attendant to answer first?

Sounds like you do not...

Thus, I would move 200 to another port, RENUMBER IT TO BE 279, and put multiple System Access buttons on that extension, AND then put Shared System Access buttons on 201 for those multiple SA buttons for 279. (of course, 201 can not be an attendant)

This is at least where I would start with this.

But, a hair salon with a TI? - how busy is this place, PHONEWISE?

Thanks for your reply merlinman to answer your question they 55 4400d stations. Like I said very busy salon

Would this work? Make 279 a MFM extension then put multiple SSA buttons on both 200 and 201 for 279. Thanks in advance.

That may just do the trick.

However, on a recent setup, I had an issue using an ADJUNCT for Multiple SSA buttons.

Try it and see, but if you have any issues, you may have to use an MLX port.

The issue I encountered was: when 2 calls rang to the ADJUNCT at the same time, one went to Voice Mail.

instead of shared system access, put 279 (the renumbered MFM station) in a cover group, then on 200 and 201 put up to 4 button coverages for the group to use as the call appearances. You can have multiple on the same phone for this group. Shared system access is, in my opinion, just one step below QCC's for quality.
