Any UPS Recommendations for Micros 3700?

We are looking to replace our old UPS hardware. We currently have an Oneac piece and a Chloride DeskPro 650. Our Micros dealer is suggesting we replace it with the one they sell: Oneac One404AG-SE Plus Series for $528. The price seemed rather high so I started shopping around, but I can't seem to find the exact unit. APS seems to have a good reputation and has units for around $200 and some far less. I worry about spending only $100 even though it seems some websites recommend units at that price for business applications. Any suggestions on what will provide adequate protection at a competitive price?

We will plug in our HP computer that runs Micros, a monitor and a back-up dial-up modem. I think that's about it.

If you're talking about power supply for a restaurant...

We use "Tripplite UPS AVR 900U" at eight locations (Aloha and Micros) and they have worked fine for us; they run around $60 - $75 each.

They provide (give/take) about 45 min - 1 hour of power per terminal (and a separate [same unit] for the server). The reason for this is simple: If the power grid is out for more than 1 hour, you are most likely not cooking either. If for some crazy reason it was down longer than that, we use backups:

[ul]
[li] Server Books[/li]
[li] CC Backup One - Manual CC Processor Wireless App[/li]
[li] CC Backup Two - Square Card Reader (horrible rates, but it works in an emergency)[/li]
[li] CC Backup Three - Old Fashioned Manual CC Slips --- yikes! :) [/li]
[li] Pen and Paper[/li]
[/ul]

We have used this as a backup maybe once in five years with eight locations. I (personally) see no reason to have a $525 power backup unit per terminal. And (at least here) we are usually not without power for more than 30 min - 1 hour.

(Just a note on redundancy; our Aloha systems handle CC's "on the backend" and re-process when a connection is available. The Micros will stop processing, but there are several backups available...)

Just my thoughts; but I would defiantly save yourself some money...

Good luck on your search!
