any tools to view illustrator files ?

i have tonz of illustrator files (.ai) but i think it was created by previous version of illustrator .. i am currently using illustrator CS ... is there a way to see a thumbnail or a preview of the .ai files because i cant seem to see the thumbnails in the properties section nor when i try to open a .ai file from illustrator itself..

Opening 1 by 1 with illustartor is too awkard for me... as i have thousands of .ai files...

If all your file are like the one above - - looks like they were worked in 8.0 saved down to verion 6. As for the thumbnail preview I am not sure if this can be done.
