Any one have any tips for using tapecopy in beb 10.5 or 10.0. I have a library attached to a W2K server and am running a gfs job and would like to "clone" those tapes to have a copy for offsite vaulting and a copy in the library.

Using "tapecopy -d GROUP0 -qPastTime 1 -m CLONES"

generally gets what I want, i.e. tapes from the last 24 hours written to the media pool CLONES, but does so with only one tape at a time. We have more tapes than can be copied one at a time without running out of time before the next backup job would need to start. Any ideas to "multi-stream" this?

Bit of a toughy that one.

As far as I remember, the tapecopy command is not library aware and as you have probably configured your library into a single group to multistream the backup, you cant issue the command across multiple groups.

Maybe possible to create a script that also uses the chgtest command to move media around but could be tricky.

If you've a spare drive in your library, might be just as useful to reconfigure it and use the raid option to knock out the copy instead.
