Any suggestions on Error 1705 1

Hi,
well since the previous question i added is too long, what could be causing this error ?

"[ERROR 1705] fILE FFMSGVC.DBF is not available[exclusive use],user could be reindexing the file or closing a period, please wait until the process is finished."

Of course that table above it is not in use by any user, can be used by another process in the Windows server by any other software as a backup or antivirus ? if so can anyone point me how to find out

Hi Ernesto,

Error 1705 means:
- Access denied
- or File is write protected

to find out what process is using Your file, download free Process Explorer from Sysinternals / Microsoft:

[URL unfurl="true"]https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer[/url]

just unpack the down loaded ProcessExplorer.zip and start procexp.exe or procexp64.exe, no installation required

then click Find / Find Handle or DLL ... and paste Your file name

Thanks so much for the clue, will try that tomorrow at the server, as i guess i need to run the procexp64.exe from the server itself correct ?

or can i run the procexp64.exe from my computer, as i have a drive letter mapped to the shared folder where the dbf file is located ?

Hi Ernesto,

I would run the process explorer on any machine that may be using this file

the server must of course be a windows server
