Good Morning,
Before I give up on this perplexing and troubling problem I thought I would ask the experts for HELP...We do not have ISDN so I cannot go in and change our caller-ID # from there, we have a Definity g3si V6 and our carrier SBC says they have no way of fixing our problem as far as outgoing ID. DID lines have priority over POTTS lines which I can understand but even the DID #'s show up wrong! Most outgoing are showing up as 6200 which is a main billing number, they say the cannot change the main billing # as this would cause problems. Is there somewhere in SYS Parameters of the trunk group page that I can try? Any help is much appreciated.
Forever stuck showing the wrong numbers,
Tina

No, you cannot do any outbound caller ID and they can't change it because of the main BTN, they are correct, this would cause problems. So mainly, you're out of luck unless you get ISDN..

On our site, we have a DOD number 89871xx. I can change our caller id in the field System Multi Frequency signalling on the field ANI for PBX.

You can also try the changing the Outgoing ANI on page 3 of the trunk group form. Of course, you need a DOD type of lines in this case.

I've had the same problem with Copper CO lines. The caller Id was showing up as the CO line number it's self. I pushed the Local Carrier (Verizon) and they were able to Block Outboud Caller Id on all my trunks. Once We moved to ISDN all was well in Caller Id world. I suggest that you move toward ISDN because it might be cheaper in the long run. The monthly costs of the ISDN might be less than the monthly costs of of the so called OLD Technology.

That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

I hope I'm wrong here but don't I have to have new phones that would work on ISDN only? I currently use 7410 and 7406 digital sets and 8410 and 6221 for analog. Will these work?
Thanks,
Tina

Tina: The telephone sets that have the display will accept the inbound caller id if it is presented. And you can change the outbound caller id's on a trunk or set basis.

Hope this helps

Ed, thanks that would be great...I was just worried I would have to purchase all new sets to comply with ISDN.
Thanks,
Tina
