I have to say my experiences with SOHO WiFi routers have not been good. I set up a Netgear DG834GT for a friend and that one suffers from random ADSL disconnections. I brought a Belkin F5D7630uk4A chosen mainly because of the problems found on the Netgear but the Belkin does not handle PC reconnections correctly (earlier post "Can not connect 2 wirelss PCs (but 1 ok)".

Has anyone found a SOHO modem/router that works without problems. Looking at all the posts on help forums none of them actually seem to work correctly. Is it same as Microsoft Windows: does not work properly but we put up with it any way because there is no real alternative.

Maybe we should all save up and buy some proper CISCO kit. Surely the commercial WiFi hot spots can not be suffering from these problems as they would loose business.

I think you've just been unlucky, as I am sure you can find people that are happily using a Netgear or Belkin.
I personally use the Linksys WRT54 for nearly 2 years now, without a single reboot. Now an ISP like that ;)

CCNA, CCNP..partly ;)

Great to hear you have found a good one. I will keep that one in mind for the next purchase. Computing is a unique field of work, if its not one thing going work then its another. Hope your ISP improves.
