I'm looking into switching over to sendmail, but was wondering if anyone has tried accessing it with a Pocket PC and Pocket Outlook. Pocket Outlook uses UIDL commands which have thrown my current server (Alt-N's MDaemon) a few times, locking up the account. Does anyone have any experiece or comments on doing this?

Thanks jkupski. I've got a sendMail book coming this week, so I haven't had time to look into things properly yet. Are there is a software packages I can bolt on for POP3 access?

If you're going to put sendmail on some kind of unix machine, Cyrus-IMAP, Courier-IMAP, and Qpopper are all good packages.

If you're putting it on windows (just a guess, based on what you're running now) I have no idea what's out there. Qpopper will run under cygwin, though.

Great thanks for the info. I actually thought I'd make life really difficult for myself and tackle Linux at the same time. Sounds like a lot of hair pulling fun.

Nah.

Modern Linux distributions are pretty friendly and easy to use. There's also a wealth of documentation out there in the form of HOWTOs, usenet discussions, and message boards (like this one, heh.)

I sugget you look into CentOS ( which is re-packaged no-cost version of RedHat Enterprise Linux.
